I have several of these rod holders in several different models. They are the best rod holders you can buy. They are extremely rugged and simple to use. When a fish bites all you do is lift the rod ,it automatically releases your pole from the holder you never allow slack in the line ,so you dont loose the fish. They will never rust and are easy to remove ( one wing nut) for the winter or storage. You have to try these , you will agree I promise you will love them as much as I do if you love to fish and you have used other rod holders where you have to pull out of the tube or fight to get them out of the holder to fight the fish ...The salt series are super heavy duty and can be use for fresh water fishing ..That is what I use ...Happy Fishing
